Favorite Chili

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs. ground beef browned and drained
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic,  crushed
  • 1–2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 4 cups  stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup fresh  apple cider
  • 1 540 ml. (19 oz.)  tin kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • Salt to taste
Directions
  • Place all ingredients in slow cooker except salt and stir together
  • Cover and cook on low 10–12 hours (High: 5–6 hours)
  • Test for salt and add if needed
  • Serve with hot buttered toast, biscuits or garlic bread on a chilly evening
