Tasting Notes

The Northern Spy has long been known as the perfect pie apple and indeed would be the apple of choice to showcase our family’s favourite baking recipes. It has a firm, mostly tart flesh that is excellent for baking. The red lines streaking down through the green skin over an irregularly shaped apple is a familiar sight at our orchard market after the middle of October.
