Crispin

Crispin

Crisp and firm, mildly tart and aromatic.

Tasting Notes

Also known by its original Japanese name, “Mutsu”, the large–sized Crispin is slightly tart with a nice firm texture. Biting into a Crispin, you can see why it was renamed in North America — its crisp texture gives it a crunch you can hear across the room. It has also inherited a sweet honeyed flavour from one of its parents — the Golden Delicious. Crispin is one of the most versatile of all varieties. It holds its shape nicely for baked apples and pies, yet is delicious eaten out of hand.
