This marks Cody’s third win of 2018 after capturing the win at the season opener at Ironman 70.3 Taiwan, with a personal best swim. Cody Beals is a ‘home-grown’ professional triathlete based in Guelph, Ontario who found his way into triathlon in his late teens. A graduate of the physics program at physics at Queen’s University, envisioning a career in research and academia with growing obsession for triathlon. Luckily, he eventually discovered that the two interests were highly compatible. His analytical, data-driven approach to training and racing allowed him to self-coach his way to the elite amateur level before joining the pro ranks in 2014.
