Favourite Chili

favourite chill

2 lbs. ground beef, browned and drained

2 medium onions, chopped

1 green pepper, chopped

2 cloves garlic,  crushed

1–2 tablespoons chili powder

1/2 teaspoons pepper

1 teaspoon cumin

4 cups  stewed tomatoes

1/2 cup fresh  apple cider

Salt to taste

1 540 ml. (19 oz.)  tin kidney beans, drained and rinsed

Place all ingredients in slow cooker  except  salt. Stir together. Cover and cook on low 10 –12 hours (High: 5– 6 hours). Test for salt and add if needed. Serve with hot buttered toast, biscuits or garlic bread  on a chilly evening.


Yield: 6 –8 servings.
